  2. WORK PACKAGES 4 and 6 Recovery of 1 m3 oil costs 100 to 1000 times more on the shore than at sea

  3. Lamor stiff brush technology is produced in different sizes and configurations to meet all operational requirements. Lamor skimmers are suitable for use in ponds, rivers, harbors, and offshore environments. Brush Wheel Brush Belt Flexible and efficient design 2002 “Bitumen test”, Porvoo, Finland Lamor brush skimmer and pump passed the extreme viscose test (3 million cSt) 1990 “Volgoneft”, Karlskrona, Sweden Built-in LORS-5 on 3 Swedish Coast Guard vessels recovered together 60 % (630 m3) of the whole spill 2002 “Harbour spill”, Finland Lamor 3 x MM12, Recovered 250 tons of oil diesel fuel in ice conditions. 2001 “Pipeline”, Siberia, Russia Lamor MM12, MM20 and MM30 Recovered 300.000 tons of oil during 3 months operation.

  6. Stiff-Brush Technology Oil Recovery Systems on the OSH • the basis of Lamor’s skimmer range • in use on more than 450 vessels around the world • recovers all types of oils and debris • flexibility of design • certified by independent tests and proven in hundreds of recovery operations globally

  7. Stiff-Brush Technology Oil Recovery Systems on the OSH • the brush conveyor belt for OSH was developed from the existing technology to meet the requirements of the project

  8. Stiff-Brush Technology Oil Recovery Systems on the OSH • new brush sections to be fitted on 1” chain and stronger structure of the brush frame was developed Supporting bars added to the conveyor belt. Standard brush section on the left. Hydraulic motors moved to the lower end. New brush core for stronger chain on the right.

  9. Skimmer Carriage Oil Recovery Systems on the OSH • the skimmer carriage is fitted on both sides of the OSH in the trimaran hulls Both skimming systems; brush conveyor for heavy oils and Weir type skimmer for light oils attached to the skimmer carriage

  10. Stiff-Brush Technology Similar Oil Recovery Systems than on the OSH • The Brush Skimming Systems enable high recovery speed for max. encounter rate. The Built-In system equipped vessels can operate at up to 4 knots • Smaller scale skimmersuitable e.g for EU-MOP • Safe to deploy, stored in the vessel hull • Deck remains clean during the operation

  11. Similar Oil Recovery Systems than on the OSH Some examples of the delivered >450 systems in use

  12. Recovered oil pumping Oil Recovery Systems on the OSH • the brush conveyor belt is able recover extremely high viscous oils, emulsions and tar balls (> 2 mill cSt). • Lamor PDAS (Positive Displacement Archimedes Screw type) pumps include many design features to enhance performance with extremely high viscosity oil. • pumping of the recovered oil is part of the work package 4

  13. Recovered oil pumping Oil Recovery Systems on the OSH • The annular water injection is an essential property to enable the highest viscosity oil pumping. • Water injection facts: • outlet 4% of total flow, 12 bar Can be cold or hot water • inlet 4 % of total flow, warm water 80 to 100 ºC, 3 bar
