    7. Hugo M.B. den Boogert Inadequate Safe Lifting Operations; Lifting documents are not complying with intern. Stds and EP-2005-0264 Hoisting and Lifting; The lifting documents are not linked into PDOs HSE documents; Maintenance strategies for lifting equipment are inadequate; Inexpert training companies; Inexpert third party inspection companies; Inadequate Lifting management system.

Hugo M.B. den Boogert All lifting documents to be reviewed, updated and structured in PDO format; Review supply chain; Review maintenance strategies, - routines; Review competence schemes for trainers, operators, maintainers and inspectors; Raising awareness of the hazards associated with lifting operations.

SP-1251 Training Requirements for Lifting Operations personnel. Implementation for new contracts completed; Implementation on existing contracts etc. in process; Started compliance auditing.

Hugo M.B. den Boogert Improved Safety in PDOs Lifting Operations: -Better guidance in the planning and execution of lifting and hoisting operations; -Common standard of operation for PDO as well as Contractors: -Better management of risks to ALARP level -Enhanced integrity of lifting equipment. Reduced HSE risk levels in PDO: -Reduction of occurrence and likelihood of HSE catastrophes / incidents (Move from yellow to green on UEOD Risk Matrix).

Hugo M.B. den Boogert Savings by: Avoiding internal duplication of work because of common standard of operation for PDO as well as Contractors; Establishing Safe lifting operations in PDO, including those managed by Contractors. There will be a reduction in occurrence and likelihood of incidents (moving from high risk to medium risk on UEOD Risk matrix, which indicates a value of US$ 40 million). See also next slides. Enhanced integrity of lifting equipment, resulting in fewer delays.
