  4. We start on the compulsory units as half the overall marks from unit 1 fitness exam and unit 2 practical, make the maximum overall score that the students can achieve. It is essential the students achieve a merit in the fitness exam to allow them access to the top grades. Year 9 with start with the fitness and personal training units as these can support the embedding of the knowledge. We will review their progress and decide whether to put them into the exam in year 9 or at the start of year 10. This is an actual exam and worth 25% of their final grade. They will not have any other exams after this point, only coursework. This will help relieve the pressure. Join us on our journey….

  5. What we expect from the students. • They should bring PE kit to each lesson as they can be practical, theory or a combination. • Participation in practical is a requirement to pass the course so it is essential. • Attendance at sports clubs and fixtures is strongly advised as students need to play officiated full versions of the their games to achieve a merit in practical. • Full effort in all lessons for theory and practical. • Complete weekly homework building up to assignments. • Intensive revision in preparation for the exam as this is the only exam at this time which will count towards their GCSE grades. Y10 before Christmas, possibly easter or Summer term. Join us on our journey….
