Enhancing Mathematical Skills Online: Evaluation of Summer Bridging Course

This study evaluates the effectiveness of an online maths bridging course offered by The School of Applied Sciences, focusing on student engagement, confidence, and ease of transition. The course includes live webcasts, discussion forums, worksheets with worked answers, and more. Results show increased scientific interest, sense of belonging, and reduced anxiety. Recommendations for enhancements in the roll-out for the academic year 2014-15 are proposed by Rukhsana Rahim-Din and Caroline Corley, School of Applied Sciences, Huddersfield University.
