  8. VSM Mastering Rules Considerations • VSM Out of Box - Closest match criteria: • “Company Name” field is the only field available for ‘closest match’ rule. • This rule is ‘NOT’ case sensitive • Auto-mastering workflow use the ‘closest match’ rule. • If close match suppliers are found in VSM the supplier record is kicked out into a queue to be reviewed by an data administrator to be master manually. 1.) Setting up Mastering rules per data source 2.) After a record is mastered it is published to subscribing modules (sample SLM)

  9. VSM Mastering Rules Considerations • Mastering Questions for RBC- • Are there any data rules to be applier to supplier records? • RBC can set a field level rule to validate supplier fields that ‘must’ be populated before mastering. Are there any such fields? • RBC can set a data source rule to always allow a certain data source (SLM) to auto-master the supplier record. • When a supplier is approved in SLM will the supplier record be auto-mastered or manually mastered? • Sample of Data rules setup for the Master data source • Master IF: • Supplier ‘Approved’ in SLM • Company Name in SLM data source != Company Name in Master Data source.

  10. Sample of a supplier “Apple Pie LTD” • Approved in SLM • Mastered in VSM • The supplier will be available to all other modules (sample above showing supplier available in sourcing) • Above is the view from VSM where the master record is available by Module • VSM -> Supplier -> Sourcing – The supplier that was just mastered is available in Sourcing “Apple Pie LTD”
