Alabama • On June 11, 1963, President Kennedy intervened when Alabama Governor George Wallace blocked the doorway to the University of Alabama to stop two African American students from attending. • Wallace moved when confronted by the deputy attorney general and the Alabama National Guard that JFK had federalized.

  19. Oswald • It was a great day in Dallas . The President was in Dallas. The parade was going on. Then 2 gunshots. The limo speeds to the hospital. The president is dead by a gun shot to the back and one to the head . The police are everywhere. Then the gun is found. A rifle under the name of Oswald. Then the search was on. He was found by police and killed by Jack Ruby.

  24. Tragedies • JFK’s older brother Joe Jr., killed in action in WWII. • Sister, Kathleen, died in a plane crash • Suffered a miscarriage and stillborn, and son, Patrick, died two days after birth • Brother Robert assassinated • Son John Jr. died in a plane crash

  31. Conclusion • John F. Kennedy was a inspiration and a proud leader. A man who went through personal tragedies and pain, but still resolved world crisis. The day he died continues to be a day of sadness for all. His actions and triumphs are still being felt today.
