What is Goshen? • Goshen is National Capital Area Council's residential summer camp • Located on 4,500+ acres in the mountains of southwestern Virginia • There are six separate camps located along the shores of 450-acre Lake Merriweather • 3 Boy Scout Camps, 2 Webelos Camps; and 1 high adventure camp

  4. Where is Goshen • Located about three and one-half hours from Washington, D.C • Lexington, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Pack 1094 Goshen Trip • 2010 Camp Dates: 7/31 to 8/6 • Depart Sunday 7/31 @ 11am • Return Saturday 8/6 @ 11am • Scouts entering 4th & 5th grade can attend • 1094 will attend Goshen - Camp PMI • of Goshen • Registration: • Pack 1094 contribute $50 to any scout who attends Goshen. The fee above reflects the discounted price. • Check payable to “NCAC – Goshen” • Send check to Larry Skiscim – 14901 Finegan Farm Drive Darnestown, MD 20874

Typical Day • 7:45 - Flag raising • 8:00 - Breakfast • 9:00 - Program 1 • 10:00 - Program 2 • 11:00 - Program 3 • 12:30 - Lunch • 1:30 - Pack activity (fishing, work on badges, Whittle/chip) • 2:30 - Program 4 • 3:30 - Program 5 • 4:30 - Program 6 • 5:30 - Dinner • 6:45 - Camp wide Activity (staff hunt, games) • 8:00 - Flag retreat • 8:15 - Pack camp site activities (fire building, marshmallows) • 10:00 - Lights out

Food • The food service is provided by Sodexo • All meals are served in the dining hall except for one dinner when the scouts cook dinner at the camp site via open fire • Breakfast: Hot & cold breakfast including fresh fruit & cereals. • Lunch: Hot/cold lunch including salad, fruit + peanut butter & jelly. • Dinner: Hot dinners each day including salad, fruit. • Special dietary needs can be accommodated upon request. • Pack 1094 snacks: • The pack will provide snacks & drink for the camp site, hiking, etc • Scouts should not bring their own food • Trading Post: • Scouts can purchase snacks, drinks, souvenirs • $20-30 of spending money is optional

  10. Logistics • Packing list & detailed camp information will be distributed in early June • Transportation to / from camp will be provided by parents attending camp. • Carpool details will be coordinated two weeks prior to camp.
