  2. Submission Reminder • All submissions that have to be approved by the USM and MHEC must be approved at the March 12, 2019 Senate meeting for submission to the final system meetings to go into effect in Fall 2019.

  3. Natural Sciences • Change BIOL 488Q to BIOL 422 Pathology Concepts of Disease - no resource implications • Add DNSC 402online General Concepts in Green Infrastructure – program elective to be taught in rotation, no resource implications • Add DNSC 403online Practical Applications in Green Infrastructure – program elective to be taught in rotation, no resource implications

  4. Engineering Technology • Change credits for EDTE 210 Electronic Troubleshooting Lab from 4 to 3 • Change credits for EDTE 421 Instrumentation and Measurement Lab from 4 to 3 to reflect actual time requirement for courses and to help reduce total credit requirement for degree from 126-120 • Substantial Modification package will be forthcoming

  5. Aviation Sciences • Suspend Aviation Software Concentration for 3 years. No students are enrolled in the concentration. • Revise titles, course descriptions and prerequisites for: • AVSC 310 to AVSC 391 Aerial Operations in Remote Sensing • No title change • Change prerequisites to AVSC 390 or Department Permission • Revise description • AVSC 312 to AVSC 392 Operations and Performance of Flight Vehicles (new title) • New course description • Prerequisites now Department Permission. • AVSC 442 Safety Management – change prerequisites to Department Permission

  6. Aviation Science Continued • Eliminate ENGE 170 Program Concepts for Engineers and BUAD 252 Calculus with Business and Management Applications as options from Support Area. Other options are more consistent with program outcomes.

  7. Business, Management and Accounting • Revision of Finance Major • Two new courses: FINA 342 Money, Banking and The Economy • FINA 448 International Finance (elective) • Change Major Requirements to: • FINA 341 Investments, 342 MBE, 446 Personal Finance, 440 Advanced Corporate Finance, BUAD 364 Managerial Economics BUAD 414 Business Law II • Add BUAD 304 Small Business and Entrepreneurship and BUAD 420 International Business to Finance Electives

Business, Management and Accounting Continued • Revision of Marketing Major • Two new courses: MKTG 310 Creative Marketing Content MKTG 313 Marketing Software Applications (electives) • Change Major Requirements to: MKTG 401 Advertising Mgmt., MKTG 404 Consumer Behavior and Theory, MKTG 410 Marketing Strategy and Policy, MKTG 421 International Marketing, BUAD 420 International Business, BUAD 422 Supply Chain Management • Add BUAD 304 Small Business and Entrepreneurship and BUAD 410 Production Management to Marketing Electives

  9. Honors College • Proposal to move the Richard A. Henson Honors Program to the Richard A. Henson Honors College. • Honors Colleges add 13 Basic Characteristics to the existing set of characteristics of the honors program • Changes required: • Director becomes Dean of the College as an equal collegiate unit within UMES and reports directly to the Chief Academic Officer • More honors courses/sections would be needed in some Schools • Permanent funding to replace Title III • Approvals Required: • UMES Senate, Academic Affairs • Richard A. Henson Foundation • USM Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life
