What do the clients expect from us? • Solving problems • More about career information specialist (that she, he is also a person) • Multitalented, they know exactly what skills are needed for different vocations • Listening • Work • Trustworthy information • Confidentiality • Information (education, schools) • Encouraging • Prediction of future (if i learn today, do i have work tomorrow) • Requirements (for different professions) • Old education, work (how can it work for me now) • Right answer (espec. Young people) • Find out something about themselves, they don’t know by help of • Secret of (right, happy) life • Recipe of right and happy life • Together with ”what do the clients expect from us” • Expectations: unrealistic, realistic

  9. How do we deal with mobility in our work? • Analyze the possibility for client’s mobility • Mobility in practise (e.g. immigrants, students + seminars, int. Cooperation, int. Networks) • ”advertising” mobility (information, guidance, help…) encouraging positive examples, empowerment • Secured mobility • Languages – using interpreters • Everybody are involved in certain level to mobility • Mobility = flexibility • Important actors (we) in enabling mobility (=motivators for jobseekers and employers) • CV and motivation letter (help) • Compete different option – possibilities ( universities) • Basic information • Information about different countries • Information about our country

  10. What is most important for us as counsellors? • Taking the whole person into the picture, not only the career (ie. Family etc.) • Choosing communication methods according to customer • Body language • To listen ”big ear” to the needs for our clients • To help the client to find the help he/she needs • A counsellor has networks • To be someone the client can trust on • Friendly pushing • To be partners not a teacher • To be ”ready” for client • No separate xxxx private life
