  3. Start at the Beginning • Red (Magenta- Alizarin Crimson) • Blue (Ultra Marine Blue) • Yellow (Cadmium Yellow Medium)

  4. Secondary Colors 2 Primary Colors added together Red+Blue= Purple Yellow+Red= Orange Blue+Yellow= Green

  5. Tertiary Colors Primary+ Secondary= Tertiary Color Red+Orange= Red orange, Yellow+Green= Yellow Green

  6. Tint Any color + WHITE

  7. SHADE Any color + Black

  8. Tone Any color + Gray or the Complement

  9. Color Harmonies Oh they look SO good.

  10. Monochromatic Mono= ONE, SINGLE, ALONE Chrome=Color Black, Grey and white are often added to create interest and add value.

  11. Complementary Colors that are opposites- Have nothing in common Green (Yellow+Blue)-------Red Purple (Blue+Red)-------Yellow Orange(Red+Yellow)----Blue Mixed together Equally they make Grey Go well next to each other create Color Vibrations 

  12. Analogous Colors with a FAMILY Although Different- alike in that they have some of the same PRIMARY COLOR Example- Yellow-Green, Green, blue-green have some of the primary yellow in them

  13. Triadic • 3 colors equal distant from each other on the color wheel • EXAMPLE- • Red, Yellow Blue • Orange Green,Purple

  14. Pop ART • art movement in the late 1950s and 1960s that reflected everyday life and common objects. Pop artists blurred the line between fine art and commercial art.

Assignment • Use 4 Color Harmonies to create a POP art drawing of a picture • First choose your picture- 4 Thumbnails- Choose which colors you will use. • Sketch out your picture • Cut out your picture • Get Project Paper • Trace along the Edges in the 4 Squares on your project paper COLOR YOUR DRAWING
