  2. What is MAP? MAP is a research based computer assessment that gives teachers, students, guidance counselors, and parents an accurate assessment of a student’s ability measuring what a student knows and needs to learn.

  3. What do MAP scores mean? • MAP scores show you what progress is being made. • A student’s MAP score can mean the difference between being placed in a fundamental, regular, or honors level class.

  4. Areas of Reading MAP • Literature • Informational Text • Vocabulary

  5. Areas of Math MAP • Operations & Algebraic Thinking • Real & Complex Number Systems • Geometry • Statistics & Probability

  6. Tips for Success!! • Take your time. Don’t just pick an answer to click on. • Give your best effort. • Know your score and set a goal. • As long as your score stays the same or increases even by 1 you are making progress!!!
