  2. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We Asked, You Said Results from the ‘Tell Them From Me’ surveys 02-00-AU-00-01

  3. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We asked:How much do you agree/disagree that classes are relevant? You Said:You rated relevance at 8 out of 10. The NSW Govt norm is 7.9 We say: We are working on connecting our lessons more with real life situations so they are more meaningful to you. The new NSW syllabuses in Science, History and Geography do just that.

  4. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We asked: Do you have someone at school who consistently provides encouragement and can be turned to for advice? You said: You rated advocacy at school at 7 out of 10, just below the NSW Govt norm of 7.7 We say: We can do better. Everyone should feel as though they have an advocate at this school. If you have ideas on how this can happen, talk to your teacher.

  5. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We asked:Have you been the victim of bullying in the past 4 weeks? You said:21% of students reported having been bullied in the previous 4 weeks. The NSW Govt norm is 36%. We say: Bullying is not accepted at our school. Report incidents of bullying and if you see it happening, don’t remain silent.

  6. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We asked:How much you agree or disagree that learning time is effective? You Said: You rated our school at 7.9 out of 10, just below the NSW Govt norm of 8.2 We say:Oour efforts are ongoing in this area. Our School Development Days and other professional learning will be focusing on how we can be more explicit in our teaching to make it even better.

  7. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We asked:Tell us about classroom behaviour at our school. You said:You rated our school right on the state norm on the disciplinary climate! We say: We will continue to set clear rules and high expectations for behaviour through PBL, and hope you’ll get on board with these so everyone can learn!

  8. GRETA PUBLIC SCHOOL We asked: How frequently does your teacher give you feedback about your learning? You Said: 66% of you said that your teacher give feedback all or most of the time. We say:We can do better. Giving effective feedback is recognised as a strong driver for student success. It is what teachers will be focusing on in their professional learning next year.
