  3. Online Presence! (Website Design) Living in the digital world we spend a lot of time online. To be able to access the information and online activities we use, we navigate through various online sites. Each site is different from the next and each site has different features. What makes a good site?

  4. Task Overview • Considering the reasons why people might need a website, find a client who you can work with to create a website for their particular needs and wants. • The client must be a real person with whom you can communicate on a regular basis in order work out their requirements.

A- Inquiring and Analysing • Explains and justifies the need for a solution for a client/end user/target market. • Creates a detailed research plan which identifies and prioritises the research needed to develop a solution to the problem independently. • Analyses a range of existing products that inspire a solution to the problem in detail. • Summarizes the analysis of the findings from a broad range of sources related to the development of a possible solution, cited appropriately.

B- Developing Ideas • Develops detailed design specifications which explain the success criteria for the design of a solution based on the analysis of the research. • Develops a range of feasible design ideas using an appropriate medium(s), detailed annotation and can be correctly interpreted by others. • Presents and justifies, fully and critically, the final chosen design with detailed reference to the design specification. • Develops accurate and detailed planning drawings/diagrams and outlines requirements for the creation of the chosen solution.

  8. C- Creating the Solution • Constructs a detailed and logical plan, which describes the efficient use of time and resources, sufficient for peers to be able to follow the plan to create the solution. • Demonstrates excellent technical skills when making the solution. • Follows the plan to make the solution which functions as intended and is presented appropriately. • Fully justifies changes made to the chosen design and the plan when making the solution.

D- Evaluating • Designs detailed and relevant testing methods, which generate accurate data, to measure the success of the solution. • Critically evaluates the success of the solution against the requirements of the design specification based on authentic product testing. • Explains how the solution could be improved. • Explains the impact of the solution on the client/target market
