Charlotte Rezoning Process For Conditional Rezoning • Open House Forum • Held 3 Weeks After Rezoning Submittal • Hosted by the Planning Department • Surrounding Property Owners Mailed Notice (Council District Rep Also Mailed Notice) • Very Informal – Each Rezoning Applicant Has a Table To Meet the Public • Held Between 5 and 6 PM (only 1 hour) • Community Meeting • Held Sometime After Application is Submitted • Hosted by Each Applicant (Staff Does Not Attend) • Applicant Sends Out Notice Letter • After Meeting, Must Submit the Notice Letter, the Mailing List, a Sign-In Sheet, Minutes, and a List of Changes to the Application In Response to Concerns (Must Be Submitted 10 Days Prior To Initial Hearing) • Joint Public Hearing (Council and Planning Commission) • Council Can Recommend an Additional Community Meeting
