Learning Objectives • Define CoRC Action Officer roles • Coordinate Wing Leadership efforts • Target the base, community, and individual Airman with CoRC message • Describe methods of developing a multi-faceted CoRC action plan • Risk assessment initiatives • Establishment of base-wide squadron contacts • Multi-media awareness and education campaign • Promotion of responsibility/commitment

CoRC Action Officer Role AF CONOPS • Chair CoRC working group with representation from all functional communities • Coordinate overall CoRC activities on base • Ensure provision of basic training and information /resource manuals to supervisors on how to address and/or refer members with problems to appropriate services • Track statistical requirements and ensure data is inputted to the CC’s Dashboard • Provide any reporting requirements through MAJCOM to HAF

Action Officer Role-Coordinating with Wing Leadership • Previous efforts to curb Alcohol Related Incidents (ARIs) through IDS • CoRC Action officer appointed August 2006 • Member of IDS • Reports trends/activities directly to CAIB • Coordinates activities thru 2 BW/CV • Assisted floundering AADD efforts

  5. Action Officer Role-Target Base, Community, & Individual • Focus on the individual prong of the CoRC program • Each prong requires an action plan • Risk assessment • Base-wide contacts • Media campaign • Responsibility and commitment

  17. Responsibility and Commitment-Family Awareness • Family Awareness- personal means of influencing choices • Letters to family • Solicit support from family members Spouse Groups • Brief key spouse groups • Invite membership in AADD

  18. Responsibility and Commitment-Individual Accountability • PHA exam • Computerized questionnaire • Statement of understanding • Signed by rater/ratee and placed in safety folder • Includes info on consequences of irresponsible choices (financial, career, personal, judicial)

  19. Results • Original at FE Warren (0013) campaign showed drastic decrease in ARIs after educational awareness campaign • Results can be duplicated
