  2. Key Themes for 2007:- • Clinical Engagement • Commercial approach to business processes • Delivering to maintain independence and achieve our published strategy • Putting SaTH on the national map – for the right reasons

Management Executive:- • Transition from HEG to fully operational ME over 3 months started 16 January 2007 • Devolved power from Trust Board/ Executive Directors meetings • Will be the Executive Board by April • Executive Directors meeting to initiate strategy, guide the ME, review progress • CEO will always be the “Accountable Officer”

  4. Management Executive:- • Discuss more clinical/ operational issues • Develop Strategy (including Business Development) • Consider Business Cases • Senior Managerial/ Clinical interface

  5. Organisational Structure:- • Fewer levels • More clinical engagement • Devolved power/ accountability • Earned autonomy to be developed • Fit for Foundation Trust Status

Trust Board:- Chair, NEDs, Exec Directors, Director of Strategy (Director of Nursing) Management Executive:- CEO, Exec Directors, Divisional Directors, Divisional General Managers, Directors of Strategy and Infection Control Divisional Boards (3):- Divisional Director, Divisional General Manager, Nurse Lead, Finance Lead, Human Resources Lead Business Units:- Clinical Directors, Service Delivery Manager, Nursing Lead, Clinical Leads

  7. Transitional/ Appointment Process:- Structure paper, Job Descriptions and Person Specifications (DD/DGMs) 19 Jan Closing date for applications 1 Feb Assessment Centres 8/9 Feb Interviews - DGMs 12 Feb - DDs 13 Feb Divisional Director/ General Manager/ Service Delivery Director then appoint to Divisional Board/ Business Units 31 Mar

Healthcare Acquired Infection • DoH Inspection Team invited visit 23/24 Jan • Staff Testing Policy December 2006 • Infection control areas capital bid Jan 2007 • CEO retains Executive Responsibility • Director of Infection Control reports to CEO (and on Management Executive from January 2007) • Director of Strategy responsible for implementation of DoH recommendations • Hand Washing Campaign re-issued January 2007 • Review of CMO guidance on MRSA and CDiff guidance • Health economy approach via STEG December 2006

Shropshire Futures - 31 January 2007 • Unitary Status - Council Leaders • Health Futures - P Spilsbury SHA - J Chambers SCPCT - T Taylor SaTH • LDP progressing • Trish Rowson and Debbie Shaw accepted on SHA Development Programme • Steve Evans assessment for second cohort • SaTH surgical services supported by Cancer Network Board (minimal queries by DoH being actioned)
