  1. Antiochus to Hadrian & beyond: War on the Jews & Judaism • Empires bury & re-invent history to suit their rule. After the 3rd Jewish war for freedom from Rome, Emperor Hadrian plowed under & salted Jerusalem. He re-named Judea, “Palestina” a Latin form of the Hebrew word that means “invader.” This was his mockery of the Jews.

  2. Hadrian deified his lover, Antinous • Like many Roman emperors, Hadrian chose men for sex. He proclaimed his favorite Antinous a god, had him sculpted as Osiris, Dionysus & other gods then had him drowned in a cult ritual.

  6. Hadrian’s war on Judaism lives on • During Bar Kokhba’s revolt against Rome & Hadrian, Rome destroyed 985 Jewish towns, killed 650,000 Jews & took 2 million slaves. Judea was salted. During the next 4 centuries, Rome & its successor, the Greek Byzantine empire ruined the Promised Land and reduced Jews to a minority. The result was invasion by Arabs in 632 & more ruin. Hadrian’s re-naming Judah “Palestina” haunts the world to this day with virtual ‘history’ & a “non-people” as the Scriptures predicted, Deut. 32:21.
