  1. Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: Dietary Therapy Hepatic Steatosis, commonly known as Fatty Liver Disease, is a hepatic condition in which the liver’s ability to detoxify blood from toxins, gets reduced due to excessive consumption of alcohol. This is a reversible hepatic disease, however, if ignored can cause chronic damage to the liver. In the digestive tract, the alcohol consumed gets absorbed in the blood. The blood that reaches the liver contains the maximum concentration of alcohol. While the liver functions to purify blood from toxins, it can only process a certain amount of alcohol, therefore, repeated consumption of excessive alcohol degenerates liver's ability to detoxify blood. Since this condition is reversible, it is important that a patient takes utmost care of his hepatic health in order to avoid further damage to the liver. According to Dr. Vivek Vij, dietary therapy plays a pivotal role in the treatment of Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, apart from medical assistance. Abstinence from alcohol consumption is mandatory for any patient. Excessive intake of alcohol during ALD not only prolongs the duration of treatment, but also leads to further liver damage and increases the possibility of Acute Liver Failure. Not only alcohol, overconsumption of fats, sugar and carbohydrates also causes the build-up of scar tissues in the liver, and worsens the liver condition. It is strictly advised by Dr. Vivek Vij-a renowned Liver Transplant Surgeon,

  2. offering moderate cost of Liver Transplant inIndia; to cut down the intake of the same and switch to Liver-Friendly diet. Intake of Liver-Friendly Foods such as green leafy vegetables, garlic, turmeric, carrots, lemons, oranges, grapefruits, asparagus, beets, broccoli, sweet potatoes, lentils, onions and apples, improve the liver's ability to perform its basic functions and helps in steady recovery of hepatic illness. While fats cannot be completely avoided, minimum consumption of the same is suggested to patients suffering from Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. It is advised that a patient consumes plenty of fluids during and after his hepatic illness. Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, however mild it may seem, should be treated before the conditions worsen into a rather intricate one. The disease is the onset stage of hepatic cirrhosis and cancer, which can only be treated by a liver transplant or can even be fatal (in extreme cases). Thus, hepatic health is a matter of major concern and symptom of any Hepatic illness that occurs must never be ignored. Consulting a Liver Specialist on a regular basis is the key of avoiding Chronic Liver Diseases!
