  2. OBJECTIVE To ANALYZE graphs and DISTINGUISH slope and y-intercept. To ANALYZE tables and DISTINGUISH slope and y-intercept.

  3. POSITIVE SLOPE = +rise/run

  4. Negative slope = -rise/run

  5. Zero slope = 0 rise/run

  6. No slope/slope undefined = impossible (YEEK!)

  7. Slope = 2/3positive slope

  8. Create a graph from the table and determine the slope

  9. Slope = 1/1 positive slope

  10. Create a table and determine the slope

  11. Slope = -2/2 negative slopey-intercept = (0,-1)

  12. Practice (textbook) PAGE 414 #1-10 draw graph for 3-8

  13. Y-intercept • Where the line crosses the y-axis.

  14. Y-intercept = (0,-3)
