This project outlines the conversion of 4 HWRCs to CRCs across counties like Somerset, Cumbria, Essex, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. The implementation of charging systems, reduced opening hours, and public consultation to address issues such as fly tipping and decreased visits. Market testing through Competitive Dialogue procurement led to a new integrated contract focusing on formalizing reuse and expanding recycling streams. Contracts expire in 2014 with the possibility of extension, as options are being currently reviewed.
