  1. What Is a CVV Number and How Do You Find It ? A CVV number, also known as a Card Verification Value or Security Code, is a three- or four-digit numerical code that is printed on the back of credit cards. It helps to verify online transactions and protect against fraud.

  2. In order to find your CVV number, look for the white signature panel on the back of your card. Your CVV number should be located either above or below the signature panel, depending on the type of card you have. It is not printed on the front of the card and it is not stored in any database in order to protect your security.

  3. If you are still unable to locate your CVV number after carefully inspecting the back of your card, call the customer service number located on the back of the card to request assistance. They should be able to provide you with your CVV number or other information that will allow you to complete your transaction.

  4. It's important to remember that merchants will never ask for your CVV number during a phone order or in an email. If you receive a request for your CVV number during any type of transaction, it is likely to be fraudulent and should be reported immediately. By understanding what a CVV number is and how to find it, you can protect yourself from credit card fraud. Be sure to always check your statement or monitor online accounts on a regular basis to ensure that all transactions are legitimate.
