  2. The Priority for Pentecostal Worship Luke 10:38-42 TNIV 38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

  3. The Priority for Pentecostal Worship Luke 10:38-42 TNIV 41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "You are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

  7. The Priority for Pentecostal Worship Ps. 27:5-6 TNIV 5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. 6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.

  8. The Priority for Pentecostal Worship • THE BENEFITS OF BEING IN GOD’S PRESENCE • Ps 27:4-6 • To gaze – staring at ultimate beauty • Kept safe – in the day of trouble • Hidden in shelter – of God’s presence • Set high on a rock – firmly planted above the fray • Lifter of our head - encouragement • Enemies defeated – victory though surrounded • Joy – shouts & songs of rejoicing

  9. The Priority for Pentecostal Worship • VALUES FOR PENTECOSTAL WORSHIP • Experience the benefits of being in God’s presence • An understanding that God’s presence is what people need • Evaluate services based on the degree of God’s manifest presence they sense in their midst • Desire people to be talking about Jesus and His presence after the service
