  1. INFORMED, EMPOWERED, TOGETHER Shared Decision Making is important to: [insert clinic name] Healthcare decisions can have a big impact on the quality of our lives, but making choices about medical tests, procedures, and treatments can be an overwhelming experience. Everyone benefits when patients are well informed and play a primary role in deciding how to treat or manage their own health conditions. Research demonstrates that both patients and providers benefit when patients are well informed and play an important role in deciding how they are going to treat or manage their health conditions. Our clinic is participating in a study with the purpose to improve the process between you and your clinician when discussing possible options and outcomes for certain health conditions. Our clinic has over 30 DVD Decision Aids (DAs) available to help you know your options and make an informed, values-based choice. Ask your health care team for more information.
