  1. Montgomery County Government Welcomes Interfaith Multicultural Communities and their Places Of Worships

  2. Places of Worships are allowed to be located in all Zones in Montgomery County

  3. Place Of Worship a permanent building structure for use of public assembly.  a building where congregations gather for prayer. Properties used for public assembly shall comply with commercial codes and standards.

  4. Places of Worships Shall Obtain Use & Occupancy Certificate Prior to Operating.

  5. Places Of Worship shall be designed and constructed in adherence with commercial codes and standards

  6. Codes Enforced by Department of Permitting Services Zoning – Setbacks, Height, Parking & Lighting Land Development – Sediment Control, R.O.W., Well & Septic Commercial Building – Architectural Life Safety, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Green Building Fire – Fire Truck Access Plan, Fire Protections

  7. As maybe required prior to building permit release Other agencies’ approvals shall be met/signed off. • Park & Planning • WSSC • Utilities • DOT/SHA • Others
