  2. The Frenchtried first • After world war 2, the French tried to take Vietnam back to be their colony again. • The Vietnamese fought back and von the war.

  3. The USA joined the war • 1955-1960: rebels in north Vietnam took the power, they where making it a communistic country. • This could not be tolerated, the world police came (the US)

  4. These supported which • North-Vietnam were supported by Russia/China • The south were supported by the USA

  5. Afraid for world var 3 • Because of this, the US feared a 3 world war • Instead, after the Vietnam war. The cold war began.

  6. Hard to find • The landscape were wary hard to fight in, the Vietnamese used the jungles to ambush in • This lead to several air attacks with napalm.

  7. The most famous battle • The most famous battle during the whole war, were the battle of the valley of death • In this battle 400 American troops were surrounded by 4000 Vietnamese troops, still the American von.

  8. Manycasualties • The USA`s casualties: Just over 60 000 • The Vietnamese's loses: About 2 millions, this is a lot because the Americans killed 6 civil people for each enemy soldier.

  9. The hippies • There were a lot of demonstrations' against the war • Those who demonstrated were called hippies, their slogan were: make love, not war!
