The goal is to try to achieve cultural harmony – this can only come if staff understand and share the values of the culture – how can we instill this in staff? think of new staff joining a company… Mergers and takeovers can cause major culture clashes Read page – 297 to 298 now…influences on culture… be ready for a quick fire quiz

Quick questions on Corporate culture influences • What does NORMS stand for? • What is meant by ‘Rewards’ when discussing influences on culture? • Similarly, what do Sanctions do to influence culture? • Why are the objectives of a company such a big influence on culture? • Suggest 2 advantages of a strong corporate culture
