  10. Listening Guide • Though each song is different, they all have John Williams signature to them. • The listening guide takes us through 33 years worth of music. • Though the Star Wars theme that I used in this guide was from the 2000 performance by the London Symphony Orchestra.

  11. Jurassic Park • The brass section start out with a broad rang low to high in piano duple time. • The woodwinds come in to add a higher note. Either a harp or a chime combined with piano do a light interlude. • The low strings come in following the theme the brass section started in the beginning. A set of high strings come in to form a full and robust orchestra. • The full orchestra playing forte; still able to pick out every instrument. The drums come in rumbling hard.

  12. Jurassic Park Continued • The strings come in playing the main theme. Voices softly coming in, you can barely hear them under the rest of the orchestra. • The voices come in stronger. Voices, woodwinds and strings and brass follow the rhythm of the theme. • Voices are poking out on top of the rest in an "Oooo". Mezzo-piano into Forte. • It slows into a piano, and all fall silent except the harp which plucks into the end of the song. Silence.

  13. Star Wars • The brass section comes in Forte followed closely by the drums; And there is a group of soft strings barely noticeable playing in the background. The string section come in mezzo-forte the brass and drums are playing piano. • The full orchestra descends. The entire orchestra plays the main theme. • The brass section do a molto-allegro ascending rush con fuoco. All fall silent except the strings which kind of flutter and sway, with light brass playing.

  14. Star Wars Continued • There is light brass; fluttering and spiraling. • The Brass add strength and moto. • All playing their own thing, no one following the common theme piano. • The entire orchestra is playing piano; the brass section is the most noticeable. • The strings are light and soft to end.

  15. Duel of the Fates • The New London Children's Choir come in unison with "Kor-ah, Mah-tah, Kor-ah, Rah-tah-mah. Kor-ah, Rah-tah-mah. Yood-hah, Kor-ah.“ The strings come in pianissimo-allegro. • The woodwinds come in piano, while the strings continue along with the main theme. The string and woodwinds continue to build and grow faster and louder closer to mezzo-piano. Harp does this whooshing ascend like a wind chime. • The brass section comes in following the main theme. The timpani comes in Vivace. • The choir comes back in, repeating their lyrics over top the Orchestra. The string and woodwind sections continue on the main theme. The choir and brass are forte. • The entire orchestra and choir are forte and continue with the main theme.

  16. Duel of the Fates Continued • Caesura. The string section pick back up pianissimo, followed by the woodwind section playing lightly along with the strings. • The brass section come in playing the same thing the woodwinds started. The string section pick up the volume to fortissimo. • The choir comes in fortissimo with, "Kor-ah, Daa-nyah, Kor-ah, Rah-tah-mah.“ The Choir is still singing the same thing fortissimo, with the orchestra playing a syncopated fortissimo, which ismaking the music very choppy. • The brass and percussion are spiraling upward, with the choir singing along.

  17. Duel of the Fates page 3 • Caesura • The string section pick up pianissimo, followed by the woodwind section playing lightly along with the strings. The choir come in mezzo-piano singing, "Kor-ah, Daa-nyah, Kor-ah, Rah-tah-mah.“ • Choir and Orchestra continue to build to fortissimo. The brass and percussion sections spiral upward to the end. • Silence.

  18. Prologue (Harry Potter) • Celesta comes in with a soft and light magical theme. Strings Pianissimo come in with a windy sound as the Celesta builds. • Flutes continue with the theme as they come in Pianissimo. Strings plucking. Brass pick up the theme Forte. • Glockenspiel syncopated. Strings come in fluttering. • Glockenspiel syncopated upward spiral to the end.
