Spare Booster RF Cavity • Cavity assembly • Continue welding together parts on hand (8/11) • Waiting for new ceramics (due in September?), have at least five leak-tight ceramics on hand • Estimate fabrication complete September if we use on hand parts • Tuners (we want 4) • One complete and tested (current spare) • Two complete not tested • One still to be built from scratch (needed for spare) • Good opportunity to capture process steps (Working with TJ in TD) • Estimate September/October timeframe • Cone design, likely upgrade, good opportunity for improvement • Manpower is good now (part time), will need dedicated personnel if AD takes on any large scale upgrade

  6. Spare Booster RF Cavity • 19 cavities x 3 = 57 + 3 spares = 60 ferrite tuners • Assume: • Repaired/replaced = 30 tuners (1/2 of the total) • One week for two knowledgeable technicians to rebuild. Assumes all parts pre-assembled (cones, etc.) and on hand, no welding, no replacing of ferrites. • 1 week x 30 tuners = 30 weeks, or at least 7 months • This does not include design time, procurement, manufacturing lead times, training/familiarization, pre-assembly, etc. + 6 months? • Need more information!
