The European Association of Institutions in Higher Education • Founded in Patras, Greece, 1990 • More than 800 members in 26 countries in the EHEA • Members of EURASHE are National Associations of Colleges, Individual HEIs and professional HE associations • Professional Higher Education and Applied Research within the Bachelor-Masters structure.

  3. Characteristics of Professional Higher Education • diversity of systems in Europe (Ba, Ma, PhD in coop. with univ) * binary system: professional HE outside universities (B, NL, SF, NO, DK, IRL, A, D) * unitary system: professional tracks/trainings in univ.(F, L, ES, IT …) blurring of systems through professional and academic ‘drifts’ of univ. & other HEIs.
