  1. Supernatural Phenomenon vs. LawBy Paris

  2. Interesting…why? • Supernatural Phenomenon and paranormal activity became of interest to me when I saw the 1975 movie The Exorcist and the 2006 movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose, two astonishing movieswere based on two very different people. Becoming interested in how these cases are handled in real life scenarios.

  3. Challenges • I had a hard time finding sources with accurate information. I couldn’t find a lot of information and pictures on Robbie Doe. Mainly because his family didn’t really talk to the press about his exorcism.

  4. Discuss the process of sp…. • I used the University of Washington Online Library • Articles • And books

  5. Learned? • I learned that exorcisms are performed very different in different cultures. Each culture uses their own ritual which consist of words that are translated in Latin. Latin being the language of the devil.

  6. Anneliese Michel • Anneliese Michel was born in 1952 and was said to have started seeing demonic figures. • When she turned sixteen she was possessed by several demons • She was prescribed numerous amounts of medications, some of which should not have been prescribed because of their side affects. Some of her medications caused her absenteeism. • Despite her the medication of her psychiatric care she still believed that she was possessed and the only thing that could save her

  7. Anneliese Michel • After her death the state said that her death could have been prevented a week before her death • Her parents, Reverend Schulze, and the priests were all charged with failure to call a medical doctor and homicide.

  8. Robbie Doe • Was born in 1935 and raised Evangical Lutheran just like his mother and his father was baptized Catholic but inducted no practice. • January 10, 1949 Robbie and his family began to hear scratching in the walls and a picture of Jesus that was on the wall shook. • The family looked into exterminators and they told them that there were no kind of pests living in their walls. • The noises carried on for about ten days. • January 26 Robbie's aunt had suddenly died and to keep in touch with his aunt and others spirits he used the Ouija Boards which his aunt taught him to use

  9. Robbie Doe • His family took him to a Reverend who was interested in parapsychology and suggested that Robbie stay at his home for awhile. • The priest had no doubt that there was a presence of evil or a demon about to revoke Robbie’s soul. • After he was relieved of the demon(s) who took over his soul he and his family never discussed the events that took place.

  10. The Inquisition • During the first century the English term for a legal process was called “inquisitiu”, which originates from Latin • Inquisition Tribunals were stationed through Spain, Portugal, Venice, Rome, and the Netherlands. • To get the truth from someone they were beat, hung, or tortured. • Galileo was sentenced under this process

  11. Other interesting facts… • 3:00 am is the hour of the devil • The language of the devil is Latin • One of the rituals used to perform an exorcism is called the Rommanun Rituale (see Appendix A)
