Archie manning’s Timeline. May 19, 1949 in Drew, Mississippi Elisha Archibald “Archie” Manning was born. 1968 - Manning gets his first start as an Ole Miss Quarterback. 1968-1970 - Named to the All-SEC team. 1971- drafted as the number two pick for the New Orleans Saints. 1978- named NFL MVP.

  3. 1968 - Manning gets his first start as an Ole Miss Quarterback

  4. 1968-1970 - Named to the All-SEC team

  5. 1971- drafted as the number two pick for the New Orleans Saints

  6. 1978- named NFL MVP

  7. 1985-Manning retires from the NFL

  8. 1989- inducted in to the college hall of fame

  9. 2007- Manning was awarded the Silver Buffalo Award by the Boy Scouts of America
