  1. The Side-Slip Seat

  2. Overview Disclaimer: This is a for profit business. ‘Every minute cut on boarding time can save $30 per flight’ Journal of Transport Management 2008 The slowest part of ‘turning’ an Airliner is the loading and unloading of passengers. • Southwest Airlines: • 2 extra hrs flight time/aircraft/day • $1,000,050/daysaved • fleet reduction of 90 aircraft

  3. The Problem • Airlines can't stay profitable • Airline operations are NOT Green • Airline passengers are miserable • PRM’s are not catered for

  4. Why Our Solution Works Airlines try to operate their aircraft 24/7 We can reduce the ground time, increase the flying time People Planet Profit Billions $$ saved Happier customers 15% fleet reduction Wider aisles 3” Wider middle seat Wheelchair access Less fuel wasted on ground Increased fleet utilization

  5. Product

  6. Of Interest to this Conference • 3” Wider middle seat does not make overall 3-row seat any longer (which allows the airlines to use this seat without any regulatory hurdles) • Staggered design – shoulders, elbows, thighs, not longer adjacent • When seats slid over Aisle is 43 inches wide....facilitate in flight bathroom visits from front and back rows of aircraft in larger skychair/wheelchair?? Is this a problem? • Convertible seat option

  7. Market Size: 40,000 Aircraft Airlines replace their seats every 5 yearsat $700,000/aircraft Our seat is the only seat on the marketthat recovers this cost. ROI: 1.8 yrs

  8. Market Validation - Passengers N O R W A Y

  9. Market Validation - Airlines

  10. Product Validation • Industry Endorsements include: • AAPR • NAAFA • Boeing • Airbus • IATA • Association of Flight Attendants

  11. Where are we? Current Position Media Coverage Airline/OEM Interest

  12. We need your help • We need your feedback. • As we finalize the design we need to know what features or problems you see with our design. • Tray Tables, seatbelts, armrests, optimal loading procedure? • We don’t know what we don’t know...... • Please visit our website to contact us. • www.molonlabedesigns.com (or just google: Side-Slip Seat) • And feel free to reach out to the airlines, non-profits, politicians....anyone who might help us move this idea into the airlines.

  13. Thanks • Since I first reached out Brandon (AAPR) and Peggy (NAAFA) have been huge supporters of our idea. • They have publicly endorsed us and campaigned for us to the FAA and their members. • So THANKS!
