  5. Great Dane • William Penn had a Great Dane • Used for hunting and working • The Great Dane is known for its : size, strength, beauty, intelligence, tolerance, courage, faithfulness, and trustworthiness (like PA and its residents)

  7. Hemlock Tree • Slow growing evergreen tree, can live 800 years or more • Used by settlers to build log cabins & acid for tanning leather

  9. Brook Trout • Pennsylvania’s 4,000 miles of coldwater streams provide the perfect habitat for this fish • It is the only trout native to PA • Brook trout are also called speckled trout, squaretails or just “brookies” by fisherman.
