  1. New Technology Transfer Process at Putra Science Park sciencepark9jgd.blogspot.com/2022/10/new-technology-transfer-process-at.html In Putra Science Park, we have changed our strategy on Technology Transfer process as follows, in order to keep up with the fast changing technology market and to fulfill the UPM’s vision of Malaysia’s Premier University of Technology; What Is Innovation Innovation is the process of applying new ideas to create novel and valuable products, processes or services. The term innovation refers to activities that are not part of the company's normal business operations. It is often applied to technology-based companies but innovation can take place in any sector of an economy. Innovation may happen through designing and creating new technologies, new product designs, or new methods of doing things. An innovative way of thinking allows us to see problems differently and come up with solutions that have never been tried before. These innovations could be ways of making existing products more effective or efficient, new distribution channels for these products, or other ways for consumers to access these products. Innovative thinkers use creative problem solving techniques such as trial and error, systematic exploration, brainstorming and research. In order to generate good ideas they need patience and perseverance. They also need discipline – because creativity takes a lot of time (sometimes years) before success is achieved What Is IP Intellectual property is the legal protection afforded to creations of the human intellect. IP includes creations such as inventions, literary and artistic works, designs, symbols and names. The law protects these creations by giving the creator certain exclusive rights over their use. These include, among others, the right to prevent others from copying or selling the work without permission; adapting or translating it; performing it in public; renting or lending it out; making a film based on it; or doing anything else that might prejudice its potential market. Patent Application Process - Step 1: Research and Development (R&D) is done by our researchers or partner company; 1/3

  2. - Step 2: After the project is completed, the R&D team will submit a detailed report of their research findings to PSP; - Step 3: PSP will conduct an assessment on the feasibility of patenting this new technology. What Are The Characteristics Of An Invention Invention is a new idea that has not been introduced yet. It is the act of coming up with or creating something new. Inventions usually have some form of originality, but it can be argued that the invention doesn't need to be completely unique to be considered as such. The inventor will first design an invention and then they will try to introduce it into the market which is a process called technology transfer What Is A Patentable Invention Technology transfer is a process which involves the commercialization of technology, intellectual property and innovation. A patentable invention is an item, idea, or process that can be patented. The inventor of the new technology may not be able to obtain a patent for their invention unless they invent it themselves. Patents are often granted by national governments who assess whether or not the new technology should be protected by law. How To Register And Obtain A Singapore Patent Number Putra Science Park (PSP) is the Technology Transfer Office of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), promotes latest technology, innovation, technology transfer activities of research outcome and Intellectual Property (IP) of our researchers. We have formed a New Technology Transfer Process for all patent related matters. Now UPM's innovators are able to file their patent with or without commitment as well as other intellectual property. What Are The Benefits Of Having A Patent Application? A patent application is a document filed with a national or regional patent office by the applicant for a grant of exclusive rights to an invention. A patent gives its owner the right to prevent others from making, using, offering for sale, selling, or importing the patented invention without permission. Finding Patents For Inspiration Or Idea And Product Development 2/3

  3. A patent is an exclusive right granted by the government to an inventor or their assignee for a limited period of time in exchange for disclosure of the invention. This allows the inventor to profit from their invention without other people copying it. In order to find patents, you can use Google Patents, where you can search for patents with keywords, date ranges and other parameters. Registration Procedure At Putra Science Park 1. Fill in the registration form and submit it to the PSP Office. 2. Submit a copy of the proof of ownership of IP (i.e. patent) or proof of ownership of trademark to PSP Office within two weeks from the date of submission of Form A-2A/B/C-1A/B/C, or such other document that might be required by law from time to time. 3/3
