  1. CAHA Parent Education New CAHA requirement this year There is a issue, that we can improve with Education

  2. Parent Education Referees - are people too, humans make mistakes - it will not help the team or the coach to yell about calls - sometimes they are learning also - sometime they are some ones child, and the parent is there watching also - if the players hears you ever blaming refs, they will also - coaches will be very upset with a bench penalty

  3. Parent Education Your Players - let the coaches do the coaching, never coach from the stands - don’t coach other people kids - don’t yell negative comments regarding other players, either team - don’t ask your child to coach other kids - they really can’t hear you – only that you are yelling - make the car ride home pleasant - understand development spurts and plateaus will happen - the NHL scouts will never see your child's PeeWee stats - you can burn them out on the sport - you do not need to go to Denver to develop top hockey talent

  4. Parent Education Coaches - are volunteers, giving a tremendous commitment to your children - we invest a lot in training in them - make mistakes too - must have the latitude to make decisions, with in boundaries - respect the 24 hour rule - questions ->call Bob, cards are in the lobby and at the front desk - please give them your complete support

  5. Parent Education Encouragement vs Criticism - Do you remember the last compliment you gave your child's teammates? - Do you remember the last pure compliment you gave your own child? - Ask “Was it fun?” or “Was it a good game?”, never ask “did you win?” Remember – it takes 5 positive comments to negate 1 negative comment Relax, enjoy the experience, it will be over to soon….
