  2. Goal: Find $1.5 million necessary to run high school education in Nashua for next year.

  3. ESL Program • Current Cost: • North- $163,1821 • South- $153,4191 • 2.8 teachers are needed to teach 17 sections.(17 (#sections)/ 6(average classes a year taught) = 2.8) • Saved $185,001 • New cost to the program is: $131,600 1- Page 33

  5. Athletic Director • Currently we have an interim AD • Assistant- $63,5002 • Hiring new AD- at least $87,4182 • Instead of hiring a new AD keep the assistant AD and make him the full time Athletic Director. This saves $63,500. • Mr. Insignia will make the same salary as the old AD 2 - Page 64

  9. Monitors • Monitors currently cost the district $106,6094 • By cutting lunch monitors and having volunteers be the monitors or teachers with out classes, volunteer and rotate to be the monitors. 4 - Page 24

Athletic Transportation • Money saved $42,436 • Total how much transportation costs all sports and both schools= $84,872 5 • Divide that by two= $42,436 • Divided by all athletes number based on given by athletic dep. (on paper) $42,436/2043=$21 • Have the kids pay $21 at the start of the season to pay for the transportation 5 page 42-89

  17. Headmasters • Save $80,000 • Instead of having 4 headmasters only have 2 per school • Going from Assistant Principal to Headmaster. • According to Ms.Bellemare there is estimated to be a $20,000 difference

Alvirne Bus • One bus for each school is used for Block 1 and 4. • At end of the day one bus is used and brings students to their houses if they do not have cars at North or South. • 8 students from South and 21 from North attend Alvirne. • The cost after reimbursement from the state is approximately $10,000.00. • Cutting this program from the High Schools would be cost effective. Have students who can drive and have cars sign a waiver and drive or carpool to the school. Question #4: What are transportation costs between North and South?   27. Advertising • Advertising is a great way to bring in money for the Nashua School District. • Both the South and North gyms currently have no advertisements in them. • Stellos Stadium can also be another place to advertise and can be sold at a higher costs than in the gyms. 9 See Worksheet

Advertising • Both the South and North gyms are home to all home boys and girls basketball, and volleyball games. • They are also where gym classes take place which increases the amount of people who will be seeing the ads. • Stellos is home to all home games for not only the North and South football and boys and girls lacrosse, but hosts many of the two schools field hockey and boys and girls soccer games. • Stellos is also used by BG for the same sports, as well as by the Nashua Crusaders youth football organization for games. This makes Stellos the area for more costly advertisements because of the amount of traffic the field gets all year round.
