  3. Charles Thompson, Secretary of Congress, was responsible for the first translation of the Bible in America and published the Thompson Bible.

  4. Francis Hawkings published the first hymn book in America.

  5. Benjamin Rush recorded in his diary a conversation he had with John Adams in which John Adams said: “WE CAN ONLY WIN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR IF AMERICA REPENTS OF HER SINSAND RELYS ON GOD.”

  11. Thomas Jefferson was assuring Americans that those who had left countries with government supported churches would not find this in America. In Europe everyone was forced to support and attend a government supported church.
