  2. Speak O Lord Speak, O Lord, as we come to YouTo receive the food of Your Holy Word. Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,

  3. That the light of Christ might be seen todayIn our acts of love and our deeds of faith. Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us All Your purposes for Your glory.

  4. Teach us, Lord, full obedience,Holy reverence, true humility; Test our thoughts and our attitudesIn the radiance of Your purity.

  5. Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to seeYour majestic love and authority. Words of pow'r that can never failLet their truth prevail over unbelief.

  6. Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us, Truths unchanged from the dawn of timeThat will echo down through eternity.

  7. And by grace we'll stand on Your promises,And by faith we'll walk as You walk with us. Speak, O Lord, till Your church is builtAnd the earth is filled with Your glory.***

  9. What message did God give them? • The Moral Law, • a body of doctrine for the people of Israel, • instructions for a place of worship, • and many other details that would distinguish them from all other nations. • It was theirconstitution!!

Exodus 20 - The Message Itself • God’s covenant law would provide this rag- tag, wandering multitude a foundation upon which they could function as “one nation under God”. • It would teach them the will of God in government, society, and worship… • …how to worship, how to dress, what to eat, how to sow a field

God gives His people a “culture” • Patterns for living that would distinguish them as a separate and peculiar people. • The people of God!! • Jesus summarized it all with 2 commands • Through this vital alliance Israel was guaranteed victory in the new land. • How would you characterize your reverence for God today?
