  1. TEKS12C:recognize levels of organization in plants and animals, including cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, and organisms. TEKS12F: recognize that according to cell theory all organisms are composed of cells, and cells carry on similar functions such as extracting energy from food to sustain life.

  2. 01/07/14 What Do Living Things Do? “The Unknown Specimen” How do you identify a living thing? *In small groups, develop a list of characteristics if something is living vs. non-living.

  3. Share your results in a graphic organizer form… NOW, we will create a master list…

  4. Add title “Characteristics of Life” This unit will focus on identifying the function and structure of the smallest unit of life, the CELL.
