  2. The salary of a park ranger • The salary of a Park Ranger all depends on where you would like to be a Park Ranger at. • I would like to be a park ranger in Pikeville, Tennessee. I would get about $32,000 per year.

The Definition of a park ranger • The definition of a Park Ranger describes professional positions involved in the law enforcement and visitor services functions of the State park system. • The responsibility in this series works primarily in field districts of the State park system including State parks, reserves, historical units, recreational areas, beaches, wayside campgrounds, and underwater parks.

The responsibility of a park ranger • A park ranger is a person employed by the National Park service to educate and ensure the safety of the national park visitors. • They are alert at all times and trained in first aid and rescue operations in order to take care of the injured when accidents do happen.

What degree you have to have to be a park ranger • Most federal jobs don’t require a college degree as long as you have sufficient experience to meet the qualification standards. • Park Ranger jobs are no different- with the exception of Law Enforcement rangers. • Some park rangers have the degree of emergency response, wilderness first aid, firefighting, dispatcher, scientists, scholar, biologist, ecologist, fire scientist, geologist, and hydrologist.

  6. The type of firearms park rangers use • If you want to carry a gun, you’ll need to complete the Seasonal Law Enforcement Training Program at one of the nine colleges that offer it. • Most park rangers carry a 9mm, but some just carry a taser gun or pepper spray.
