  6. No excuse Galatians 3:24–25 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. • We’re good people (9:31-10:4) • Their problem: PRIDE • Result: missed the whole point of the Law – to lead them to Jesus!

  8. No excuse Romans 2:7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life...for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. • God expects too much (10:5-13) • Salvation by works is hard!

  9. No excuse Romans 3:10–12 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” • God expects too much (10:5-13) • Salvation by works is hard!

  10. No excuse Romans 3:20 ...by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight... • God expects too much (10:5-13) • Salvation by works is hard!

  11. No excuse 1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. • God expects too much (10:5-13) • Salvation by works is hard! • Salvation by faith is easy! • available right now (v6-8) • all you must do is say, “Yes!” (v9-10)

  12. No excuse • God expects too much (10:5-13) • Salvation by works is hard! • Salvation by faith is easy! • available right now (v6-8) • all you must do is say, “Yes!” (v9-10) • available equally for all (v11-13)

  13. No excuse Psalm 19:1–2 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. • We never heard(10:14-21) • Creation told you (v18)

  14. No excuse Romans 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. • We never heard(10:14-21) • Creation told you (v18)

  15. No excuse Matthew 7:7–8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” • We never heard(10:14-21) • Creation told you (v18)

  16. No excuse • We never heard(10:14-21) • Creation told you (v18) • The Law told you (v19) • The Prophets told you (v20) • You have no excuse (v21)

  17. Application If you have yet to believe... If you have believed... • no excuse not to pray for the lost (v1) • no excuse not to share the gospel (v14)
