High profile media safety incidents in 2007/2008 Congress overhauled the CPSC in Summer 2008 and introduced strict new standards for children's products Consumer advocacy groups on heightened vigilance and emboldened by new law Increased use of sub-contractors for components in the manufacturing process, adding further product safety risk New product certifications being introduced (e.g. TIA and CPSIA) Further product safety legislation and regulations for consumer products are expected External Influences
