  2. Mission Statement • We would like to reduce the number of accident related deaths among college-aged individuals. • How? Through the creation of an iPhone application for ASU students that promotes healthy living standards and raises awareness about important health issues.

  3. Why Accidents? According to Health People 2020, accidents and unintentional injuries are the #1 cause of death for young adults ages 20-24

  4. How to Approach Reducing Accidents: Problems Solutions • Students don’t know what to do when they get sick or stressed • Students don’t know where to go to get help • Students don’t know how to prevent risky behaviors • Students don’t remember their symptoms when they see a doctor • Students don’t have a place to store medical information, just in case • Look it up in the Healthpedia • Find out using Resources Near Me • Follow some healthy living tips and get some free incentives while you’re at it • Track it in injury progress • Store it in My Medical • Information Sheet

  5. Features • Healthpedia: lists common conditions, ailments and stressors of college students including: • Stress-induced problems • Common cough and cold • Arizona Specific Illnesses such as heat stroke • Data Presentation: • Page-Ranked using Health Indicator Warehouse data so the most important ailments are presented on the list first. 9. Impact • Over 50,000 students attend ASU’s Tempe Campus with an additional 15,000 at the other three campuses. This app could impact many of these students’ lifestyles and hopefully prevent risky behaviors. • In time, we hope that our app can be adapted and adopted by many different colleges around the country • Together we can help significantly reduce the number of harmful and deadly accidents
