The Ant

1. or 蚂蚁的故事 The Ant 一个寓言… A Fable... Or 或者 May be not.... 不是个寓言而是个真的故事....

2. Every day, a small ant arrives at work very early and starts work immediately. 每天，小蚂蚁很早来上工，并且一来就开始做事。

3. She produces a lot was happy. 她的生产力很高，并且工作愉快。

4. The Chief, a lion, was surprised to see that the ant was working without supervision. 身为老板的狮子，非常惊奇蚂蚁能自行工作而不須监督。

5. He thought if the ant can produce so much without supervision, wouldn’t she produce even more if she had a supervisor! 他认为在沒有监督下的蚂蚁生产力是如此的好，如果有人监督的话她的生产力应该会更好才对!

6. So he recruited a cockroach who had extensive experience as supervisor and who was famous for writing excellent reports. 因此他招募了有丰富经验的蟑螂作为监督员，蟑螂以擅长撰写优良报告而闻名。

7. The cockroach’s first decision was to set up a clocking in attendance system. 蟑螂的第一個決定是设立了打卡计时系统。

8. He also needed a secretary to help him write and type his reports and … 他也需要一個秘书帮助他编写和键入報告和……

9. ... he recruited a spider, who managed the archives and monitored all phone calls. 他招募了蜘蛛，负责管理档案和监管所有电话。

10. The lion was delighted with the cockroach's reports and asked him to produce graphs to describe production rates and to analyse trends, so that he could use them for presentations at Board‘s meetings. 狮子对蟑螂的报告非常高兴并要求他用图表描述生产率和分析趋势变化，因而他能在董事会上用这些资料來报告。

13. The ant, who had once been so productive and relaxed, hated this new plethora of paperwork and meetings which used up most of her time…! 曾经是很有生产力和轻松的蚂蚁，恨透了这些耗尽她大多数时间的过多文书作业和会议…!

14. The lion came to the conclusion that it was high time to nominate a person in charge of the department where the ant worked. 狮子做出结论--这是提名蚂蚁所在部门负责人的时候了。

15. The position was given to the cicada, whose first decision was to buy a carpet and an ergonomic chair for his office. 这个位置被赋予给了蝉，蝉的第一个決定是为他的办公室买一张地毯和一把符合人体工学的椅子。

17. The Department where the ant works is now a sad place, where nobody laughs anymore and everybody has become upset... 蚂蚁工作的部门現在是一个哀伤的地方，不再有人会笑，而且大家变得抓狂…

18. It was at that time that the cicada convinced the boss , the lion, of the absolute necessity to start a climatic study of the environment . 就是那时蝉说服狮子上司，强调要开始进行组织气氛调查的绝对必要性。

19. Having reviewed the charges for running the ant’s department , the lion found out that the production was much less than before. 在审查了蚂蚁的部门运作費用后，狮子发现生产力比以前大幅減少。

20. So he recruited the owl , a prestigious and renowned consultant to carry out an audit and suggest solutions. 所以他招募了猫头鹰，一位有名望和显耀的顾问来执行稽核工作并建议解決之道。

21. The owl spent three months in the department and came up with an enormous report , in several volumes, that concluded : “ The department is overstaffed ...” 猫头鹰在部门待了三个月并且产生了一份有数冊之多的巨大的报告，结论是：「部门成员人数过多…」

23. The ant , of course, because she “showed lack of motivation and had a negative attitude". 当然，是蚂蚁，因为她「发现蚂蚁缺乏做事的动机並且态度消极」。

24. The end
