  1. Welcome to YTT Fall 2013/14! 10/1/13~ 3/25/13 Peace through Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) – f through Yoga Teacher Training is a comprehensive introduction to the heart and science of yoga. Our 200-hour program will prepare you to be a transformational yoga teacher that embodies authenticity, passion, compassion, love and integrity trusting the process and holding sacred space. You will possess a foundation to teach with clarity and confidence as well as deepening your own yoga and spiritual practice. Requirements: All applicants must have a consistent yoga practice of at least one year. A completed application and a deposit of $200 is part of the application process. Fall Schedule: October 4, 2011- March 20, 2011 (Classes meet every Tuesday evening at The Sanctuary in Zionsville, Indiana from 5:30-9:30 p.m.; Four Saturday dates TBA is also included.) Tuition and Payments: Tuition is $1950. $200 is due upon applying; $600 due two weeks prior to class starting; $600 due sixty days after first class; and balance of $550 is due ninety days after training begins.

  3. Breakdown of 200 hours Yoga Technique 100 Hours In Class A & P 20 Hours In Class Philosophy & Ethics 20 Hours In Class Teaching Methods 20 Hours Observing & Assisting Practicum 30 Hours Observing & Assisting Electives 30 Hours Attending Yoga Classes Reading/studying yoga materials at home.

  4. Saturdays! • There will be 5 Saturdays that we will meet at Peace through Yoga studio in Eagle Creek Park. We will meet from 8:30-5 with an hour break for lunch. (These 5 Saturdays will be determined by our group collectively after we begin the program). • We will have special workshops on Saturdays with guest speakers ranging from the topics of Kid’s Yoga, Acro-Yoga, Ayurveda, Energy Healing to Ashtanga Yoga, and making our own Vision Boards!

  5. Payment Schedule Tuition is $2400. After the $200 deposit to apply, $600 will be due 2 weeks prior to class starting (9/17/13) $600 will be due sixty days after the first class (11/30/13); $550 will be due ninety days after training begins (12/30/13); the remainder of $400 will be due at the end of the semester by (2/28/14). One hundred percent of the last payment will go toward the children at Ramana’s Garden, India and is tax deductible as permitted by law.   7. Overview of semester Weeks 3 & 4: Asana and Pranayama Foundations • Yoga Asana foundations • Asana Sequenceing • Intro. To Pranayama • Aligning the Asanas • Effects of Prana • Yoga as Therapy

  8. Overview of semester Weeks 5-9: Deepening, Sharing and Teaching Yoga • Pranayama Continued • Pratyahara, dhrana, dhyana, samadhi • The Sacred Texts of Yoga • Partner Yoga • Chakras • Yoga Anatomy/alignment/hands-on adjustments • Meditation • Ethics/Busi-ness of Yoga (Really?!)

  9. Overview of semester Weeks 10-22: • Each week includes a practice and teaching experience including: • Show, teach and tell periods for the following grouping of postures including: • Warm-ups and sun salutations • Meditation, Standing and balancing • Forward, backward and lateral bending

Overview of smester • Twisting • Modifying asanas/ hands-on assistance • Each week also includes a yogic lifestyle or topic-based discussion including: diet, kriyas, mudras, energy healing, chanting and delving into The Yoga Sutras. • Weeks 22-25: Re-affirming what you’ve learned. • YTT Weekends TBA per group availability

  11. Show & Tell • You will be asked to give a presentation to the group on a topic of your interest . A list of topics will be given , but not limited to those topics on yoga. The presentation should be about a half an hour in length. • You will also be given the chance to create your own class after learning about how to sequence the asanas. You will also be given the opportunity to lead the class with your creation. • You may choose a date beginning mid-semester! • A written, take-home Mid-term and Final will also be given.

  12. Graduation sangha! • Week 25: Graduation!! Friends and family are invited to attend this pitch-in sangha and celebration!

  17. Making up hours • If you cannot attend one of the classes, you may make up your hours through your electives or practicum. This may include extra reading and video times spent at home as part of your 30 hours of electives. Please do not miss more than 15 hours of in-class time.
