Result of genetic mutations that change the production of important chemical signals Mutations occur two ways: Carcinogens Genetic Pre-dispositions Why is this Harmful? Cancer cells crowd out normal cells, resulting in the loss of tissue functioning.

  3. *Cancer cells spend LESS time in interphase. Cancer cells do not undergo apoptosis.
