Online Responsibilities • Know when to come to class • Keep track of online assignments • Do all mandatory RED items • Finish by Online Day class time • Work ahead fine, but might change • Most homework on online day, so more work • No home PC needed – library • Use library if home PC not working well • No MS Office needed – Openoffice is okay also • No need for Open Office if you have MS Office • Instructions all for Windows, but Macintosh OS is okay

Organization Help • Check email regularly. • Review assignment day description • Plan to work BEFORE the online date • Keep one directory for all your work • Work in groups • Use the Help board • Transfer and backup work: • ftp to panther • Memory stick • Email yourself • When your PC fails, get to the library • Email half done work if one portion bad • Backup – don’t work only on your memory stick

  13. DANGER Skipping an online day is the same as cutting class. NOT just homework assignments. Brush over in class OR new material SKIPPING  fall behind in class & quizzes NOT easily done later. Library PCs and Backup  no excuses
