Last Year’s Fuze Industrial Base Workshop • Held May 8 – 10 2001 @ Picatinny Arsenal • Over 200 participants, 32 companies represented • Three sessions • Government session • APBI (multi-service) plans through FY07 • one – on – ones (8 companies participated) • Held at Picatinny, but was the collaborative effort of TACOM-ARDEC, PEO/PM community, OSC, DCS Ammo, OSD, Navy, AF and Marine Corps.

  3. The Results • Favorable feedback overall • Disseminated comprehensive fuze business info to industry • Many industrial base issues were raised • Government fuze community, collectively, is very serious about addressing these issues • Impetus for the formation of a DoD Fuze IPT

DoD Fuze IPT • Chaired by OSD - Mr. Melita • Plan is to address a host of Fuze IB and technology Issues • Link to industry is through NDIA – Mr. Calabrese is POC • Developing/Refining a Strategic Plan for the Fuze Technology and IB • To include a DoD Fuze Technology Roadmap • DoD Fuze IPT will meet periodically w/industry to review progress and solicit input

The OSC and the Army Fuze Management Office (as a representative for PEO Ammo and TACOM-ARDEC) are committed to working together as a part of the DoD Fuze IPT to continue the effort to address fuze industrial base issues.
