Registration January 25 8th grade Orientation @ WVHS Gym January 10 8th grade teachers distribute HS Course Catalog, course selection forms and district letter • Why it is important to choose wisely • Schedules available at orientation in August January 17 AP/Honors night @ 7:00p.m. in Auditorium January 27 Deadline for return of Course Selection Forms to middle school teachers

  3. Date in August • Schedules, lockers, and Dean assignment handed out • Link Crew runs student activities • Tour of the building Freshmen Orientation

  4. Pre-Arranged Absence • When parents know in advance that their student will be absent, they must call their child’s House Secretary at least 2 days in advance • The student must bring in a written request, from their parent/guardian, and a pre-arranged absence for must be completed Attendance

  5. Reported Absences • Include: illness, medical visits, college visits, and court dates • Doctor/Dental Appointments • Any absences due to doctor or dental appointments must be confirmed by a note from the doctor or dentist Attendance

  6. Unexcused Absence • Include, but are not limited to, oversleeping, working, missing the bus, car trouble, shopping, traffic, alarm clock problems, arriving to class more than 3 minutes late, etc… • These could result in a detention Attendance

  7. Information on website • Make sure your student knows their bus number Busses

  8. Same payment plan as middle school set up • Bring money and/or lunch • Options • Sitting in hallways outside of lunchroom • Meeting with teachers • LMC • Academic Resource Center (LMC/lunchroom) Lunch

  9. 3rd period lunch • No lunch changes Lunch

  10. Get within the first few days • Need ID at all times – activities/LMC • Handbook – all important information • Discipline • Attendance • Grading scale • Assignment notebook • Passes Student Handbook/ID

  11. Homework needs to be completed/turned in in order to pass classes • Study for tests/finals Homework

  12. Change of clothes/no uniforms • Locker Physical Education

  13. All students are expected to be seated before the bell rings • After the bell rings, teachers will close (therefore, locking) their doors • Late students who are left outside the door will be assessed a tardy and let into class Tardy Policy

  14. If deliveries are made to students during the school day, by their parents, etc., they will not be delivered to the students • They will be put in the House and the students can come down and pick their deliveries up at a time that is convenient Deliveries

  15. Come in by flag pole and follow traffic pattern • 6:50 – 7:05 a.m. is the best time to drop off students Drop Off Policy
