CIC IMG Update for NANC: February 21, 2001 Meeting Summary

The CIC IMG held two conference calls since the last NANC meeting to review contributions from Sprint, Worldcom, Qwest, and SBC. Efforts are ongoing to gather technical data on CIC usage by resellers, with relevant information from ASCENT being analyzed for inclusion in an upcoming report. This data is vital for addressing FCC inquiries. A comprehensive status report is anticipated for the March NANC meeting, along with a draft report and revised completion timelines. There are plans for at least two more meetings before March, with details to be communicated to members.

  1. CIC IMG Presentation to the NANC February 21, 2001

  2. CIC IMG • Since the last NANC meeting, the CIC IMG has held 2 meetings via conference call. • The IMG continues to review contributions to the group made by Sprint, Worldcom, Qwest, and SBC

  3. CIC IMG Status • The group is continuing to develop facts regarding technical aspects regarding CIC use by resellers • Data regarding the number of switchless resellers was obtained from ASCENT on 2/16/01. This data is being reviewed by the IMG for incorporation into our report. This information is critical to the IMG’s efforts to answer many of the questions asked by the FCC • The CIC IMG will provide a comprehensive status report at the March NANC; it is hoped this will include a draft report. Included will be a revised estimate for the completion of the final report.

  4. CIC IMG • Current plans are for at least 2 additional meetings of the CIC-IMG to be held prior to the March NANC. Once details are finalized, all members will be notified.
